School Formal Makeup Tips. What to look for in a Makeup Artist.

School Formals are such a fun day, the preparation for the formal day should be fun too, you just need to be organized. Here are few school formal makeup tips that might help you :

1- Book your Makeup Artist
Try to book your Makeup Artist in advance as most of the professional makeup artists are busy during the season and you don’t want to be disappointed. Remember to choose carefully and make sure she/him has a Portfolio where you can look before making an appointment.
2- Look for Inspiration
After having chosen your dress & shoes is a good idea to look for makeup inspiration.
Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Magazines always are helpful and you can bring it for your booking. That would help your Makeup Artist to figure out the looking that you want.
3- Skin Preparation
Spray Tan- If you are having a spray tan have it done 1-2 days prior the Formal Day. If you never have it done I would sugest to have a trial before to make sure you like the colour of the tan.
Eye Brows- If you are having your eye brows waxing Is better to have it done 2-3 days before to avoid skin reaction on the day.

4- The Big Day
Try to be on time and make sure your makeup artist is running on time.
Have your shower prior your makeup and have clean face.
Its a good idea to take a powder compact in your purse for touch ups. I use high quality, long lasting makeup on my clients, but if you have oily skin is better to be safe! The same goes for lipstick. Take a lipstick with you that is similar or the same applied on the day. If you know what colour you want is a good idea to buy your own lipstick and bring it with you for touch ups.
